Cardfight Vanguard BCS Pasadena Regionals - 03/22/2025
Share
Hello everyone! It’s me Justin (J-Money) back again with another
reflection on the recent final BCS of the year, BCS Pasadena 2025 for
Cardfight Vanguard. This regional I performed a bit better than what
happened to me in BCS Sacramento last year. What made my time easier
or rather increased my chances of going farther was my Bye-Card that I
won in a shop challenge for getting 1st place. Essentially the card gives me
a Round 1 win so I have 30 mins just to relax, prep, or buy something at
the venue with a win already on my belt. Unfortunately my dear readers this
is where I tell you that I did not make my goal to Top 32 for this tournament
to get the fancy Energy Generator card.
During the tournament after round 1, I lost round 2 which meant that for 8
rounds I needed to stay at 1 loss through the whole thing to qualify for Top
32. I was doing well until round 5 where I lost and at that point it was a lost
cause. The venue had 700+ players attending so I would have to be the
best player with 2 loses out of many others which was gonna be tough.
Fortunately some of my friends on the team that I’m on managed to reach
top 32 so I was very happy for them. I am content that I did perform way
better than I did in Sacramento considering the current meta is harder to
deal with, with a lot of problematic decks going around.
The loss however was not gonna hold me back from enjoying being in
Pasadena as I went on multiple different outings with my friends to go eat
at places not available in my local area or stores. Some of the highlights
include getting to see an influencer I follow at a local hot pot restaurant,
going to the famous Frank & Sons collectible store, and eating all you can
eat Wagyu at a Yakiniku restaurant. Essentially my trip to a regional
doubled as a nice vacation. Am I bummed that I didn't get that winner
winner chicken dinner? Yes. But this motivates me more to do more events
and to get better and better. The fun is overcoming my limits and seeing
where it can take me.
