Good evening guys! I really do appreciate you all that take your time to read my articles I’m not the greatest but to be sponsored by sparks and to be able to get the chance to do these means a lot to me!
But getting into this Pomona!!! Core TCG regionals July 18th what a weekend you guys and when I tell you it took all sort of twists and turns boy it did from me scrubbing out of main event, to me and my Fresno boys aka GFG gang out there decided to do a last minute 3v3 which we topped in that side event but yeah I will be getting into that!! The month before this event I’ll be quite honest practice was an all time zero, I basically missed out on bt25 release and went in this even blind not knowing what the “newer” cards from the set, I also did a day trip out there because I had work the following week man what a weekend but overall had alot of fun and once again seeing a lot of familiar faces!
Core TCG Regional

1W-3L-0D
Rd1 Medusa 0-2
- So round one game one started off pretty back-and-forth, knowing that Medusa is arguably blue Greene‘s worst matchup. I still played my part and we are setting up back-and-forth until he finally found his piece which was the level five Lamie and then he basically climbed his line and went into Draco. Left me at one. I had no clap back so game two we go, game two really didn’t go my way. Also Bre turned one and tried to find my pieces, but when I did find my PC it was a little too late. I stunned them for a moment, but then I didn’t have enough to capitalize so he game two. Round 0-2 not off to a good start, but still enjoying it.
Rd2 gamma 2-0
- Rounds are still early finally started I played Gamma round two arguably his worst matchup is me because I saw strip so honestly was just me decimating him two games in a row game one he goes into proximity, but then I already have two Daikin set up which lets me strip six and then I go into fire mode, which allows me to buy deck so that just stops and falls all his plans onto game2. Game two he actually maintain control for a good bit until he swung at Security and his proximity hit pallet and ace which he has to source strip to protect and then when he took off the source and lowered his DP so then when it came to me, I was able to strip some more and then climb over and hit him. Obviously, he had some protection, but once you get stripped, it takes out all the way game 2 easy 2-0 there we go.
Rd3 Shambala 0-2
- So I’m 1-1 going into round three not really near top tables but still you know in a good spot I ran into this guy and man talk about rule Sharker man. I’m talking about every little thing before I even call out my plays. He’s trying to ask and make sure I’m sequencing right and it’s kind of like dude you know but long story short vibes were not high with this guy so just and on top of the fact, I’ve never played Shambala so hearing them you know do crazy things and then finally witnessing it yourself. It’s it’s kind of nuts and you can see why analog went to one, but he 2-0’s me because I’m not knowing the matchup and him just being a weirdo didn’t help either but going on rd 4 1-2 let’s see where it takes us…I might win out lol
Rd4 Shambala 1-2
- So going into round four I am 1-2 so I have to win out if I would actually want to see top 16 I’m not sniffing top 8 knowing that the two people that beat me weren’t even near top tables so my OMW was for sure not going to be good enough to be around there but for sure like I can max out at 16 but it’s a win out which is really really tough and a 400 and something man regionals where everybody wants to go to Orlando I don’t know why Orlando, which is you know it’s understandable Bandai fest but yeah but getting long story short, we split 11 and my friend that I drove up with he didn’t do too in the end. I lost so lost one too. I am officially 1-3in Main event me and my friend decide to drop for an event and join the three V3 ultimate cup so that that’s what we decided to do.

So me, Wyatt and Zack decided to drop from the main event was one win three losses, zero is not great thinking I was gonna do better picking the deck that I picked because it was anti-Meta but going into the format with the new release it was it was definitely a coin toss, but me and the boys decide to drop out of the main event and play the ultimate cup 3V3 so with so with the three V3, it’s a little different than main event obviously three people versus three people, but the person sitting in the middle is captain, which was me and the captain is the only player allowed to speak to the other two players, and for example, if the player on the left of me needs help, he can speak with me and vice versa as long as whoever is in the middle is captain and instead of it being a best of three, it was a best of one so two people out of the team the first two that one move forward, so it’s basically best of one and it was one not even a Eli but we still played five rounds so it came down to OMW the end result was kind of messed up because there was one undefeated, but then they made us play another round which shouldn’t happen. Going into the 3v3 I played blue green played Brother bear and Wyatt stuck with classic beat break let’s get into the matches down below!!

Ulti Cup 3v3
3W-2L top 7
Rd1 brother bear L
- so leading into this three V3 tournament, they said it was five rounds so my round one I played a familiar face. I met at Riverside really cool guy. His name was unlucky trim, which is dope it was pure friendly, but he took our best of one. I’ve never played a BT 25 deck matchup so me going into this round one against Brother bear. I took a hard L and my boy Wyatt also bricked so entering the 3v3 0-1 already let’s grind back!!
Rd2 ts slop W
- Headed into round two already knew what this guy was playing he was playing TS slop our match went back-and-forth until turn five. He decided to go super wide, giving me seven memory, but he I’m talking 4 to 5 mon board which I had a break which I did and I cleared his field and cleared the Security capitalizing on that and he just scooped Zack won on my left and then so did Wyatt so we took this round two
Rd3 zephaga W
- Going into round three I play a familiar matchup because I also have the deck, which is the zephaga vortex. He doesn’t get to find vortex which was bad on him, allowing me to to control board and still climb into fighter the moment you kinda like have to re climb against a deck like blue green it’s usually GGs so I take the round and so did Zack Wyatt takes the L but we still go to the 2-1 going forward
Rd4 BB L
- round 4 I play classic beat break. This deck is honestly frustrating because I wouldn’t say it’s linear, but the deck is able to go OTK so much if you have the right pieces and then you float into monarchliza its just so free. So in this match I go first setting up board evo in the back Daiken pass. He’s setting up tamers just go for evo in the back pass. He’s doing a tamer set up tamer set up tamer set up, so I’m OK andI finally push up do blue green things you know check for three spins back his turn OTK lol we lose this round meaning rd5 the last round is a must win!!!
Rd5 jesmon W
- So round five must win I go in playing chess this just one player didn’t have the full bill which was sad. I think he said he was missing XNGXI didn’t know which build he was playing because my teammate Tyler means Jess, and when he was going through his lines, it looks so different compared to what I would play against, but he did say he was missing some pieces and yeah honestly he goes into JMan drops the token also pour rain and two sisters and passes me with four I’m already set up getting ready to go into Dragon mode spitting out going for all these swings because there’s barely any blockers, but the fact that pale tuns board just you know stops all that so GGs I take this against jesmon, and Zach won his matchup!!! in industry three with three wins and two losses topping exactly at 8
